On several occasions, Star Wars Episodes I-III introduced vital characters to the universe with brief sometimes non-speaking roles. An example of this is the infamous Darth Maul who played a far greater role in The Phantom Menace than his screen time suggests. That didn’t stop the character from having a great impact on fans, which has made Darth Maul costumes some of the most common.
Like all the most popular Star Wars costumes, Darth Maul costumes are simple enough to hand-make for anyone willing to put the time in. Even creating the face, although time-consuming, is relatively easy. Perhaps the most challenging aspect would the head on a non-hooded costume, but even that is relatively simple using a skullcap and small cones available in any crafts supply shop.
